These Terms govern access to and use of the SignRise learning platform provided by Sound Waves Foundation (βweβ, βusβ, βourβ), including:
SignRise Classroom
the SignRise website
the SignRise app
related worksheets, downloads and educational resources
(together, βSignRiseβ or the βPlatformβ).By accessing or using SignRise, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Notice.If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
Users may include schools, teachers, tutors, parents, students and individual learners.Users are responsible for:
keeping login details secure;
ensuring account information is accurate; and
using the Platform lawfully and appropriately.
We may suspend or terminate accounts where there is misuse of the Platform, including unauthorised sharing, hacking, abusive behaviour, or breach of these Terms.
3. Subscriptions and Access
Access to SignRise requires a valid subscription or trial.Subscriptions:
are non-transferable;
are for educational, non-commercial use only unless agreed otherwise in writing; and
may be suspended or cancelled if payment is not received.
Schools must hold their own subscription unless otherwise agreed by us.We may change subscription pricing or available features on renewal. We will give reasonable notice of material changes.Unless required by law, subscriptions and purchases are non-refundable once access has been provided.Users are responsible for their own internet access and device compatibility.
4. User Data and Privacy
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Notice and applicable UK data protection law.Where a subscription expires and is not renewed, user data may be deleted after 90 days.Payment card details are processed securely and are not stored by us after payment.Schools and tutors are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate authority to share learner data with us for the purposes of providing the Platform.
5. Intellectual Property
All content and materials on SignRise, including educational resources, text, graphics, branding, software and downloads, are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws.Users may use and print resources only for their own educational purposes within the scope of their subscription.Users must not:
copy, sell, redistribute or commercially exploit Platform content;
upload content to third-party websites or shared resource banks;
remove copyright or branding notices; or
create derivative works without our written permission.
6. Acceptable Use
Users must not use the Platform:
unlawfully;
in a way that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
to distribute harmful software or malicious code; or
in any way that may damage, disrupt or impair the Platform.
We may suspend access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.
7. Availability and Liability
We aim to keep the Platform available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.To the fullest extent permitted by law:
the Platform and content are provided βas isβ;
we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss; and
our liability arising from use of the Platform is limited to the amount paid for the relevant subscription in the previous 12 months.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability which cannot legally be excluded under English law, including liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or statutory consumer rights.
8. Third-Party Links
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content, security or availability.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice, including by email or through the Platform.Continued use of SignRise after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform where:
these Terms are breached;
misuse is suspected; or
a subscription expires.
Relevant provisions relating to intellectual property, liability and governing law will continue after termination.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms.
